Wangari Maathai was the first female professor in Kenya and the first African woman to be awarded the #NobelPeacePrize. She founded the Green Belt Movement, which led to the planting of millions of trees.
Today we announce the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize.

My message to young people worldwide:
Do not accept that what we have today is inevitable.
Do not accept that you cannot transform things.
To change the world, we need to unite, mobilize, and fight for #OurCommonFuture.

When it was announced that Gord Downie had died, I knew what I was going to draw. I took my favourite Tragically Hip songs and turned them into this print. The print was so successful, I ended up making $5000 in profit. Every cent of this money went to the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research which was started at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre on behalf of brain cancer research.
24 hours ago my family released this video. Since then it’s been viewed over 130,000 times across social media. My son Justin’s voice & our family’s message about #addiction is being heard. Thank you. 💜

On Aug. 31, International Overdose Awareness Day, my son Jacob & I are releasing our film project: NO FAMILY IS IMMUNE. It tells the story of my son Justin who died after a 7-year battle with addiction. He was 21.
Justin always wanted his experience to help others. We are being his voice.

@deAdder My father-in-law was one of those who left New Brunswick in 1939 to serve and went in after Juno. Like many, his experiences affected him and he was reluctant to talk about the war.
Our visit to Juno was a sad reminder of so many lives lost.
Thank you for remembering them.
@MSPEI_Docs Thank you to Dr. Stephen MacNeil at PCH ER for his thoroughness and care during a recent health issue. Also sincere thanks to surgeons Dr. Simon MacDonald and locum Dr. Loughhead for their skill and expertise. I feel very fortunate that we have an excellent PCH health care team.

A P.E.I. musician is claiming Air Canada cancelled his flight without his knowledge, charged full-price for new one-way tickets and ultimately forced him to call off his show in Toronto. https://t.co/mJOcskS4D2
