Hello @kritisanon,
1. Don't play the woman card. You were not criticized for your gender, but for your choice of clothes in an ad. You are bringing gender into this to make it a women's issue and seek wider support from women and male feminists. It's not a gender issue. Even Ranveer Singh was criticized on Twitter for a nude photoshoot. He didn't play the gender card.
2. Personal choice stops where public commercialization begins. What you wear off-camera is entirely your prerogative. You've been in this business for years. Until now, nobody bothered you about your choice of clothes. You know why? Because nobody actually cares what you wear. The outrage here comes from a commercial choice: sexualizing a deeply sacred festival celebrated by millions. Context dictates appropriateness. If a male actor appeared bare-chested while portraying the brother in that exact scene, the public pushback would be identical. The issue is sacredness and context, not gender.
3. Claiming "clothes don't define culture" directly contradicts human history. Attire is a foundational visual language of every global tradition, you cannot wear a Kimono and call it Indian ethnic wear, nor can you strip a festival of its sacred aesthetic without altering its significance. If attire truly has zero bearing on cultural respect, then tomorrow is Eid. Can you wear that exact same outfit you wore in that ad and wish Eid Mubarak? You said clothes don't define the respect you have for culture in your heart. So do it and we'll take our criticism back.
Respecting a tradition means honoring its context, not commodifying it under the guise of fashion.
This Is How Real Students Protest:
• They protest during the day and study at night to cover the backlog.
• They are not demanding anyone’s resignation, only a re-examination with transparency.
• They are not abusing any political leader or their family.
• No abusive placards. No reel-making for publicity.
Jharkhand is doing much better than Delhi.
An Indian asked an American “How come you have such a phenomenal Indian talent pool in your country?
He answered “Because you Indians give jobs to so many ‘reserved’ Indians while we give it to the ‘deserved’ Indians.”
Delhi Police ACP Vivek Bhagat says, "Yesterday, I was on duty in sector one zone one which includes the main Jantar Mantar area. I was on duty during the day and I had evening shift as well, so during the evening shift, I was going to report from Regal building which is Connaught Place, via Sansad Marg, at the red light of Tolstoy and Sansad Marg. I had a staff of five or six who were walking ahead and with me was an ACP probationer Rohit and my operator Navneet. So as we were walking ahead, we realized that water bottles were being thrown at the staff in front and hooting and anti-social slogans were being raised against the police. So as soon as our police staff moved back and forth a little there, some of them moved forward to save their lives and one of them was overpowered by the crowd. Blood was coming out of his head. His entire face was covered in blood, so I tried to intervene to rescue him from there. We even brought him a meter or two forward, but the crowd was so huge and violent. They even overpowered me. The crowd was so violent. Police officers were specifically targeted, isolating them and attacking them..."
Conditions of Delhi - north campus @officialrekhagupta ‼️ . . At Malka Ganj Chowk in Delhi, near Hansraj College in North Campus, there’s a makeshift public toilet that is essentially just four walls without any proper drainage system. As a result, the urine flows directly onto the road, spreading across the street and creating a foul smell, slippery pathways, and daily inconvenience for students, locals, and commuters. This unhygienic condition has become a serious problem for everyone who passes through the area. .
Pathetic. If the compulsion is local businesses and visitor footfalls, build a war/partition museum-park and have daily performances of how Pakistan has lost every war it has fought. Instead of the dumbassery of the Attari-Wagah beating retreat rubbish. We are not equals.
India must re-define its relations with Turkey. Any agreement on route-sharing between any Indian airlines and Turkish airlines must be terminated. @PMOIndia, @MoCA_GoI
Kashmiri Muslim OGWs who helped Pahalgam Pakistani terrorists on ground were also local Muslim neighbours.
Kashmiri Muslim terrorists who killed Kashmiri Hindus since 1989-90 were also local Muslim neighbours.
Yasin Malik is a Kashmiri Muslim.
India must know the brutal truth.
