As President Trump prepares to go to China, he has the chance to forge a new path for U.S.-China relations, one not trapped in a downward spiral fueled by mistrust and security paranoia. Read my latest on the opportunity before Presidents Trump and Xi. https://t.co/qIH3lzS9rK
Progress requires vision, optimism, and courage — all of which the graduates of the 9th cohort of @SchwarzmanOrg Scholars have in abundance. What an honor to address this bright class as 2025 Commencement Speaker. The world needs your courage and insight more than ever.
It was a honor to speak virtually at the 110th anniversary of @AmChamSh and honor Maurice R. “Hank” Greenberg, NCUSCR Honorary Chair and former Chairman and CEO of C.V. Starr & Co., with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Promoting US-China Commercial Relations. Congratulations!
I was part of a multinational group of NGO leaders and CEOs who met with President Xi Jinping a few days ago. Dialogue is an important pillar of diplomacy. I hope the leaders of the U.S. and China can soon meet.
U.S.-China relations are too important to get wrong. We need a China policy that serves the American people and protects our national interests. I joined @jeromeacohen to discuss the road ahead for U.S.-China relations. https://t.co/FNsFIfAihK
President Carter was a visionary leader who helped establish modern U.S.-China relations. I discuss how policymakers can continue his legacy, where U.S.-China relations are today, and what we might expect from the year ahead.

I started my career as a lawyer in President Carter's State Department. It was a great honor to interview him for @NCUSCR China Town Hall in 2014. I am sad to lose my first boss. He was a great and kind leader. https://t.co/ZWaEkZpDHX
After months of incremental progress, U.S.-China relations have reached a fragile stability. Read my full @Forbes interview with @rflannerychina. https://t.co/FhO2dqDBI2

Last week @NCUSCR was invited to brief incoming @INDOPACOM Commander Samuel Paparo and his staff. We are pleased to support INDOPACOM’s mission to ensure security and peace in the Indo-Pacific and look forward to continuing to work with U.S. officials from across the government in line with our mission to provide balanced education to the public and private sectors about China and the U.S.-China relationship.

For almost five decades now, I’ve worked on U.S.-China relations. I’ve seen the highs and lows and I remain hopeful for the future. I was honored to receive the @AmChamSh U.S.-China Friendship Award presented by @USAmbChina. Thank you for this award and for being such a terrific ambassador. I look forward to continuing to work with @AmChamSh for a U.S.-China relationship that benefits the peoples of the both countries.
I’m glad to see that Presidents Biden and Xi had a productive call today. Last week, NCUSCR and other American leaders discussed critical U.S.-China issues with Xi Jinping, stressing the importance of engagement/dialogue at all levels, the need to rebalance China's economy, the value of shared regulatory norms, and the vital role of China's private sector. We also raised security concerns and avoiding conflict between the U.S. and China.

I just sat through a meeting between President Xi Jinping and U.S. CEOs and other leaders. Xi made a compelling case for why the U.S. and China must cooperate. We were all deeply impressed and recommitted to building a cooperative U.S.-China relationship that benefits the peoples of both countries. NCUSCR was pleased to invite some of its directors, member companies, and friends to the event.
I was just at the China Development Forum. I spoke with @tianwei about U.S. businesses in China and the growing role of national security in business and trade relations. https://t.co/VN9p20ivXS
I am deeply saddened by the passing of Angela Chao, a @NCUSCR director since 2023 and an active member of our Young Leaders Forum for almost two decades. She was extraordinarily committed to building bridges between the U.S. and China. I will miss this young, vibrant friend terribly. My thoughts are with her family.
The leadership of China and the U.S. need to inform immigration authorities that except in the case of immigration fraud, visa issuance will be respected. Read my full thoughts quoted here: https://t.co/NFWURSdPyz
To celebrate the 45th anniversary of U.S.-China relations, I spoke about President Carter's courageous leadership and what we need to do to set U.S.-China relations on a more positive trajectory. Watch my full speech. https://t.co/JLZGvs9KqW
I will always remember Henry for his historic opening to China, his continued sage advice about China and U.S.-China relations, and as our Executive Vice Chairman for @NCUSCR. I shared more of my thoughts on his legacy in this piece. https://t.co/5rx1pQgp38
