The Knicks grabbed 41 offensive rebounds in the two games Mitchell Robinson played against the Spurs this season. NYK has to create extra shots through the offensive boards, especially when they can pull Wemby away from the rim.
The Knicks have done a good job of hiding Brunson on defense, but the Spurs are going to make him work. San Antonio ran a bunch of pindowns to get Brunson on Wemby in their regular-season meetings:
How will the Knicks find creative ways to get Wemby away from the rim when he's guarding Josh Hart?
Perfect example from the last time they played on March 1:
Thunder are 1-2 with him in this series and 2-1 without him. And he only played seven minutes in the one win with him. Not as big of a loss as it sounds. Having Ajay Mitchell back would certainly help though
Hard to really know how this will turn out but he was part of a really good front office in Cleveland the last few years.
Apparently played a big role in drafting Jaylon Tyson and finding Dean Wade. Known for his scouting and improving rosters around the margins.
At the end of the day, Bob Myers said every decision will go through him. Itβs still Myersβ show.
Just in: Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Mike Gansey has agreed to become the new President of Basketball Operations for the Philadelphia 76ers, sources tell ESPN. Gansey -- who rose the ranks within the Cavaliers front office since joining in 2011-12 -- now lands the top executive position in Philadelphia.
Referenced this clip in a story earlier this season on the Knicksβ revamped offense and the pressure they were facing to make the Finals: https://t.co/mrKchuBf2J
I knew the Knicks were going to be different offensively when I saw this clip from training camp...but not as historically different as they have been.
Would not be surprised one bit if they win it all in 3 weeks.
@krispursiainen Not only that, heβs never even finished top three in voting. Sam Presti is the only other exec who has done as good of a job building a contender in the 2020s
James Dolan took over the Knicks in 1999. From 1999-2020, the Knicks lost more games than any other team in the NBA.
Leon Rose was hired in 2020 and the Knicks are in the Finals six years later. Patient, creative. Nearly every move was a home run.
The best front office in the NBA turned the worst franchise in the NBA into a contender. This is the team Leon, Wes, and their group took over. Storybook stuff.
