A special night at the Best of Africa Awards 2026. 💫
Congratulations to @CoventryCityFC's Taiwo Awoniyi who was presented with the PFA Beyond the Pitch Award. 🇳🇬👏
The awards celebrates his incredible work with the Taiwo Awoniyi Foundation and contributions to grassroots football.
He came into the merger (he initiated) with six ACN governors (Kayode Fayemi-Ekiti; Babatunde Fashola-Lagos; Ibikunle Amosun-Ogun; Rauf Aregbesola-Osun; Adams Oshiomole-Edo and Abiola Ajimobi-Oyo)
ANPP came with three (Kashim Shettima-Borno; Ibrahim Geidam-Yoba and Abdulaziz Yari-Zamfara)
APGA came with one (Rochas Okorocha-Imo)
CPC came with one (Tanko Almakura-Nasarawa).
That meger birthed the All Progressives Congress and he became the national leader of the party.
He supported, fully, Muhammadu Buhari to win the presidential ticket and then nominated Yemi Osinbajo as Buhari’s winning mate.
But after the victory, he was sidelined.
Check the attached picture.
That is a picture that tells the story behind his relegation.
It is not a fiction or an assumption or a rumour, he was relegated.
But what did he do?
He went behind the scene, preparing himself to succeed Buhari.
He did not attack his party.
He did not attack the leadership.
He acted like he was comfortable with the relegation.
And when the time to strike came, he struck and won.
Tinubu is not like Atiku who ran from PDP to ACN then back to PDP and later to APC only to run back to PDP and then hijac+ked ADC.
Tinubu is consistent.
He has a clear vision of where he was going and how to get there.
He is not a political gambler or a political kalo-kalo kind of politician like Wike recently call them.
The other one said that if your house is on fire, you ran away from the house. He suggested that you put no effort to try to quench the fire yet he has followers even though, they’ve started leaving one after the other.
That one is no longer part of the real political contest for even his losing mate almost slapped him yesterday.

My attention has just been drawn to a video circulating on some social media platforms, alleging that I gave an order denying a political party use of a private facility for their townhall event. This is preposterous and utter falsehood, because I did not.
This is shameful and reveals a desperate pattern adopted by the opposition to attract attention.
There’s no doubt that democracy guarantees freedom of expression. It should be noted, however, that it does not grant anyone the right to defamation. Democracy also offers avenues to seek redress. So, let it be known that there are red lines that should never be crossed.
Nigeria’s second richest man, Abdul Samad Isyaku Rabiu, used to be married to Nigeria’s Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, during their younger days.
They share a daughter together named Khadija (also referred to as Cookie Rabiu), who was named in honor of Abdul Samad Rabiu's grandmother, Hajiya Bua, before they went their separate parts.
I have noticed that of late, the two still share a strong friendship, which they have never allowed their separation/divorce to affect.
They regularly hang around together and still visit each other regularly.
When BUA Group, the multi-billion-dollar conglomerate that her former ex runs, shared 30 billion cash rewards to BUA Group's long-standing staff at its Night of Excellence and Long Service Awards last year in December. Hannatu Musa Musawa was a special guest of honor at the event.
When Samad celebrated his birthday earlier this year, Hannatu Musa Musawa shared a rare picture of Samad looking fresh and dapper, which the world has not seen before, to celebrate her former husband’s birthday.
And just today, Hannatu visited her former ex in his office in Abuja, and this is the caption that Nigeria’s second richest man shared on his page to celebrate the visit of his former wife.
“Had a lovely surprise visit at my Abuja office today from someone I once called my wife, the Honourable Minister Hannatu Musawa (Hannatu Musawa).
“Times change, but friendship and respect remain. Wonderful to see the passion and dedication she continues to bring to Nigeria’s culture and creative economy.
Wishing her continued success!
End.
I like the friendship that the two former lovebirds share together.
It is just beautiful to watch and a reminder that two people who have seen each other's naked bodies before can still be great friends if the relationship did not work.
Someone called the two of them the healthiest divorce ever, and I agree.
The society paints ex-lovers as villains or enemies, but Hannatu and her former lover boy are reminding us that it should not be so.
You can fall back to friendship when love did not work.
Just do you.
The world will adjust.
