"Without a Clue" was released on this day in 1988. Outstanding Sherlock Holmes comedy/adventure from director Thom Eberhardt and screenwriters Larry Strawther and Gary Murphy.

Highlights: Terrific performances by Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley; outstanding production design by Brian Ackland-Snow; magnificent Henry Mancini score.

While the Case of the Missing Box Office was a mystery that "Without a Clue" was unable to solve upon release, this wonderful movie has since become a cult classic over the intervening decades.

Among my ten favorite films of 1988.

@ConfessionsPete @ontheslatepod @markbtf @Kudrave100 Wouldn’t surprise me i know he watched The Bill religiously and desperately wanted to guest on Morecombe & Wise. And Gary Webster was in the same class as Roger’s daughter at drama school!

[Fox News Entertainment @FoxNewsEnt]

Roger Moore's son Geoffrey Moore calls out Hollywood for drowning in recycled comic book franchises, saying the industry has abandoned real dialogue and originality in favor of big-budget spectacle.

Moore, who stars in the British spy thriller "Knightfall," told Fox News Digital there are "too many studio executive heads deciding what's right, as opposed to what people want to hear or people should hear and see." The film marks a full-circle moment for the actor — he's stepping into a spy role at roughly the same age his father was when he made his final Bond film.

I had a phenomenal time talking to Geoffrey Moore about his new film Knightfall - and much, much more. A hugely charismatic man and an absolute gent. He also does a great Inspector Clouseau impression! More to come on the Movies In Focus podcast soon...

@HoundScarlet @TVandFilmStars @TVandFilmExpert WG2 was supposed to be Burton & Moore. Moore didn’t like the script. LC may have been attached after i’m sure the book is right. But Collins had zero value for international pre-sales which Euan financed his films with
