I don’t really think it’s about me Karoline. I think it’s about the idea that we all have fallen down and that we all wish we could be a little kinder to each other. And we all hope for a little grace and understanding when we get honest with ourselves and the world. And we all have that friend or brother or parent or son that has fucked up but fought to get back on their feet. Or that may be you. Or it may be the one that lost the battle and we are mourning them every day- and asking why couldn’t he fight for himself. Whatever it is- it’s not about me. It’s about all of us. The operator of this former account posted a picture of my then-minor daughter, commented on her body and character, attacked me for obviously being (in the poster's opinion) a terrible father to her, and then labeled my grandchild (one of the greatest blessings to come to our family in all of our 25 years together) a "mess" that has "saddled" my daughter.

Today, I spoke with this poster's husband who rightly was horrified by her behavior. He was beside himself and embarrassed by her posts.

The greatest irony of this entire ordeal is this woman's children's lengthy criminal rap sheet and childbearing history, which, to put it mildly, puts her family history directly at odds with her complaints about my new grandchild and her assumptions about what the arrival of my grandchild says about my parenting.

Contrary to this woman's direct and defamatory claims, my grandchild is amazing and very much not a "mess" who has "saddled" anyone.

Regardless, she saw fit to remove at least this one account. I guess we'll have to wait to see how my daughter chooses to proceed against her and her husband in the legal system.

Finally, it's noteworthy that I reached out to an executive at one of the TPUSA entities to ask if they were connected in any capacity with her post.

The executive responded and declined to say they were not involved.
