My roommate carries a gym bag twelve feet down the hall to the shower every morning because he refused to say the words "please stop using my shampoo" to our other roommate. He started by watering the bottle down. First week it was a splash, then half, and by the third week it was mostly water and the guy was still using it. He told me he could see the level dropping and just kept adding more water to keep it looking full. Around week five the third roommate said "your shampoo's gotten kind of thin" and my roommate said "yeah, it does that," then went and bought a second bottle, which lives in the gym bag. He hasn't told him about the bag. The old bottle stays on the shelf and he refills it every Sunday from the tap, with a note in his phone that just says "top off." Last month the third roommate bought his own shampoo, so the bag is unnecessary now. My roommate still carries it. Says it would look weird to stop.
