Viral incident from Kalyan Maharashtra: A taxi driver alleged that two women who took a lift from Kalyan to Bhiwandi threatened him with a false harassment case and demanded ₹10,000.

When he called for help the Thane Police intervened causing the women to panic and flee from the moving vehicle.

The factory was shut down years ago due to political high-handedness, leaving behind a massive plot of land and pristine ponds where we spent our childhood swimming. Soon, this ecological gem and its surrounding greenery caught the eye of @basu_bratya and @SaugataRoyMP.
When @basu_bratya tried filling up these clean water bodies, public anger boiled over, leading to his defeat in our neighborhood pocket in the 2021 elections. In retaliation, hundreds of *harmads* (goons) were sent to stop our local Kali Puja.

However, the brave women of our neighborhood stood tall and chased them away—a resistance that rightfully became national news, highlighted by journalists like @sanmoybanerji, safikul Islam of ArambaghTV youtube channel , and Manab Guha.

Unfazed, Bratya's syndicate henchmen—Raju, Puchu, and Tyabla—later plotted to sell this land to a prominent real estate company close to Abhishek Banerjee for a 30-story luxury high-rise. Neighborhood meetings were held to distribute syndicates for bricks, sand, and labor supply, making petty brokers dream of becoming overnight millionaires.
But 2026 brought a definitive mandate of change. Not just our neighborhood, but all of Dum Dum has completely rejected the so-called "Architect of Dum Dum," @basu_bratya. Our brother Arijit Bakshi is now the elected MLA, and local syndicate operators like Puchu and Bublai have been arrested. Dum Dum has finally been saved.
The trees on the Lord's factory land are the ultimate oxygen suppliers for the entire locality; cutting them down would choke Dum Dum. Bratya Basu has completely filled up two massive ponds.

Here is a piece of advice for @basu_bratya: instead of hiding or running away, you should return to the area, hold a microphone, and do public "miking" across the entire neighborhood to explicitly beg for a pardon from the local residents for the damage you have caused.

Yesterday, while the officials of the land department were surveying the #Tinbigha Corridor area for the border fencing, BGB tried to stop the survey work.

BSF took positions. BGB fled. No escalation happened.

The area comes under the #Mekhliganj block of the Coochbehar district of West Bengal.
