If a taxpayer files the return late, there are penalties.

If a taxpayer delays paying taxes, there is interest.

But when the Government has to return your own money, there is no fixed timeline.

1- Provide a date of resolution once claim is logged.

2- A working mobile app for EPFO services.

3- If date of resolution is missed, concerned Commissioner will be penalised.

Filed my ITR today.

Paid income tax more than my fresher year CTC.

In return, now I'll have to struggle to get my own PF money back. Can't send my future kids to government school because we all know the condition. Can't depend on a government hospital if I want good treatment. To drive on good roads, still have to pay toll. Have to buy an air purifier and water purifier because air and water around me are polluted.

Feels very unrewarding to be a taxpayer. There should be some reward for people who pay a good chunk of their income in taxes every year.

Income tax departments expects you to pay your tax in advance. If you don’t they charge you penalty and interest ? What kind of sincerity is this towards honest tax payers ?

Least the govt can do to be fair , is to give us interest at the same rate on tax that is deducted as TDS.
