名大の北尾さん@x3bqu、一柳さんとの共同研究です。LINE-1はがんや精神疾患等において転写・翻訳されることが知られていますが、実際に遺伝子として機能している例はほとんど報告されていませんでした。本研究はLINE-1由来の蛋白質の機能と進化について、新たな知見を提供するものだと考えます。
