Soundboxing is a VR music video kickboxing game. Compete by punching to the beat of your favorite music videos, or record your own challenge for others to play!
Soundboxing 2.0 beta testing is now available to the public! 2.0 is the same Soundboxing game you know and love, built with a brand new VR rhythm engine, with lots of bugs fixed, new content sources, and made with moddability at its core. Just switch to branch 'beta' on Steam!
@Robo_Chewie Wow, thank you for your support! Apologies for missing your @'s. We would love to bring Soundboxing to Quest/2 - in fact have built some key technology to make it possible. Unfortunately in the past our conversations with FB have lead us to a dead-end. We will always keep trying!
Just launched the first private beta of @soundboxing 2.0! The main idea behind 2.0 is to make Soundboxing the most moddable VR rhythm game on the planet. DM me if you want the password to try it out early, and be sure to send your feedback 🎉
.@ericflo's @soundboxingvr changed my own life in 2016, and by 2017, the world saw the transformative potential of a new interactive #VR fitness vertical. Immersive games that bring you unlimited health potential in spacial computing! - https://t.co/p5z5RFqbSo
Day 14. Yuangyang, China.
Two weeks straight of a month-long experiment. Traveling the world investing time in my health and well-being without needing to leave the house. Over 20k cals burned! 🔥
Feeling amazing and can’t wait for the world to soon feel the same! 💪🕺🏻🌎😉 #VR
@alexargo One benefit of the new scripting engine is that, in the future, game types will Just Work on the WebXR platform too. (Cross-play with all the other VR platforms that will allow it.) Still waiting on some things in WebXR for that to be possible, but it's getting closer!
Working hard to make Soundboxing into a true next-gen VR rhythm sandbox. In the upcoming months, you'll learn more about the next major update, which turns classic SB into just one game type of many. You can make & publish your own rhythm experiences using the same tools we use!
There are many advantages to creating a scripting environment for your game. But then you realize you want access to angular velocity, and have to implement it in the scripting front-end, the core library, the engine client, the wasm api, update the synchronization messages ...🤯
@alexargo Would love to support Quest! We have a version working great on Quest. Unfortunately the decision about whether it can be released is not ours to make.
Note that this is not the visual update that was teased earlier. (You can try those visuals out on Steam by activating the 'beta' branch, but it has some bugs.) This is a ground-up rewrite that will allow the community to build even better experiences than we can ourselves.
If you're a fitness lover, you'll be able to find games that get your heart pumping. If you're a dancer, you can find games that let you groove to the beat. If you're competitive, you can find games that pit you against difficult maneuvers. We'll make some games, but you can too!
Falling back down the @soundboxingvr rabbit hole of #VR dance workouts. Recommend trying any routines captured by ‘Walrus’ in the cloud. Genuinely had the time of my life tonight dancing to @The_Cranberries in my living room. - https://t.co/OtASmEYftg
Tonight I busted moves in a hotel room in #VR for my 1st 1kcal🔥 workout of 2020. Warmed up w/ some @BeatSaber 360 levels then two legs of @soundboxingvr sessions having a nice breather in between. Arms feel great! 💪 🤜
@fitbit users, simply turn on general ‘Workout’ to track!
Long before @BeatSaber, there was, and still *is* @soundboxingvr. Unlimited workouts through a #VR@YouTube browser that instantly captures user-made dances. Just crushed >1k cals in 1hr on @fitbit. Routines by Walrus. @lcdsoundsystem, #DaftPunk, more:

In what was at least my 432nd hour of @soundboxingvr, I burned >1k🔥 on @fitbit and shared my Talking Heads dance routine.
SB is like a workout browser for @YouTube content in #VR. If you haven’t played it and are dying to move to any music imaginable, do give it a sweat! 💦 👊
A Japanese TV station, NHK, asked to come to my house to talk about my passion for VR/AR as well as some projects I've been working on over the last two years, including the @VR_Health_In, @blackbox_vr, @soundboxingvr, and overall evangelism for #VR.

Had one of those totally normal mornings where a Japanese TV crew knocks on my door & asks to film me dancing in my living room w/ @soundboxingvr to talk about flow state, #VR, self-care, and entertainment. Same choreography I created in 2016 when I started my journey. #Pandour
