@thistlerugbypod SRU announce new 3rd pro team - the Scottish Claymores playing at SG Murrayfield.
To ensure desired engagement from both the Borders and the Caledonia region, they’ve opted for a mutually (in)convenient base.
@rugby_ap@rugby365com For the record, Dupont is a better scrummager than Os du Randt, a better finisher than Bryan Habana and a better WC winning captain than Francois Pienaar!
@ToppersSnr@MattersCounty The lack of terrestrial cricket is a big factor. I grew up watching Test cricket on the BBC and fell in love with the game that way, but there wasn’t any cricket for so long. I’m not convinced by the 100, but at least some of it is freely available for kids to watch.
@legsidelizzy Ian Moore’s Follet Valley are worth trying for “cosy crime”. Slightly different, but I’ve enjoyed Ben Aaronovitch’s Rivers of London series too.
@thistlerugbypod This is crazy! With the demise of the Super 6, SW Edinburgh is now massively underrepresented and must be next in line for a pro team?
@AllBlazeNoGlory Am I the only one who thinks we shouldn’t see this as a glorified A tour? We obviously need to manage workloads and blood some youngsters, but I’d expect to see a decent core team of established players (inc Finn/Darge if they stay as co-captains).
@R055JM@thistlerugbypod I thought he was quick to give that without an obvious grounding, but he’d probably have been justified to give a penalty try after the repeat infringements on the goal line.
