PLA doing this is what made the world feel alive and special. Collecting certain pokemon to help someone then giving them that pokemon and seeing them interact with it post quest was amazing. Give a shiny wurmple away and the dudes got a shiny cascoon later.

It took until Pokémon Legends: Arceus to finally have real sidequests in a Pokémon game.
