In April 2020, West Papuan human rights activists Ambrosius Mulait and Dano Tabuni were found guilty of 'treason' by an Indonesian court and imprisoned to 9 months after organising a peaceful protest against racist abuse they had received.
Only 0.2% of West Papua's population were allowed to vote in the 1969 UN Act of Free Choice referendum that formalised #Indonesia's colonial occupation.
The vote was a violation of #WestPapua’s legal right to self-determination, UN Charter Article 73 & the New York Agreement.
