ive come to understand ppl really don’t realize how much they believe capitalist propaganda until you see their reactions to disabled ppl or anyone who they cannot perceive as being “productive”.
not my marker saying "your personal experience really shines through in this" LIKEEEE. was it the fucked up family dynamics or the secretly queer daughter that gave it away??? 😭😭😭😭
"he or she" is LEGITIMATELY grammatically inferior to "they"
- breaks up sentence flow
- unneeded contingency
- clunky and annoying when repeated
- forces an unnecessary assumption onto the reader that acts as a cognitive obstacle
the point that's so poignant to me is her saying that she wasn't going for sexy, she wanted to feel cool and comfortable. like everyone immediately assumed she was trying to be hot, and i think that's indicative of a much bigger issue in how people view women as performers.
Olivia Rodrigo addresses backlash over her babydoll dresses and says it reflects “normalized pedophilia” in culture:
“I have worn outfits that are maybe revealing on stage, like, I’ve worn a sparkly bra and little shorts, which is my right- that wasn’t inappropriate, but me fully covered up in a dress that people deem to be like childlike was inappropriate. It’s like how we normalize pedophilia in our culture. It’s this rhetoric that we’re fed as girls since we’re so little, which is like, ‘Don’t wear that because then a man is going to sexualize your body and it’s your fault.’ I didn’t think I looked sexy in that at all […] I just think that if we start dressing in a way that’s like, ‘Oh, I don’t want some [f**king] freak to think that I am sexy, like, a baby,’ it’s just losing the plot a little bit. I’m very protective of younger women and girls, and I just don’t want them to be fed that rhetoric. You shouldn’t be responsible for some guy sexualizing you in a way that was never your intention.”
I don't think any bisexual gives af about who we lesbians date like let's be honest it's only those that say "I'm les4les because I don't want a girl that's touched by a man" that's an incel talking point and bi women have the right to feel uncomfortable by it++
heterophobia doesn’t exist, but there is a specific sort of misogyny y’all feel weirdly comfortable directing towards male-attracted women (esp bisexual women) as if the fact that they’re attracted to men no longer makes it discrimination.
I just think it would be better for everyone if the people who make adhesive for maxi pads and the people who make adhesive for bookstore price stickers switched jobs
"There's no way you can write a ten page paper without chatGPT"
WE COULD LITERALLY DO EVERYTHING THAT EVER HAPPENED IN HUMAN HISTORY WITHOUT CHATGPT WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT.
more importantly, i’m tired of how mean the average person has become. no kindness or grace, no openness or understanding. just this weird consistent cruelty & uppity response to everyone
