@PunishedFredda I'd figure you for someone that generally doesn't like specific labels due to the sometimes ridiculous connotations that come with them. Things become very alienating and otherized when someone thinks they can pin an "opposing" label to someone.
Stranger in a strange land is one of the most iconic storytelling tropes for western media set in feudal Japan, where a foreigner is stranded in the isolationist country and forced to learn to adapt to the local culture and be treated as an equal.
@BenSmit07650631 @CountDankulaTV CKII is free on steam, really fun, and relatively easier to learn than HOI4 or Victoria 2. Though be warned, it does feel very "dated" without any DLC.
The USSR under Lenin was the world leader in gay rights and gender corrective surgery for more than a decade. Before Stalin rolled back certain laws in the 30's, queer liberation was understood as โpart of the revolution."

@edgyltnwrd Not even to mention the genocide committed via Alexander The Great's conquest of the Mediterranean and the Hellenization of Northern Egypt, the Levant, Anatolia, Iraq, etc. Entire nations and identities assimilated from Macedonia to the very edge of India.
@IneptFredda Good example: the horribly failed invasion by the U.S. and their colonial allies at the outbreak of the Russian Civil War. Not a single one of my history teachers knew, most of them not believing me until they researched it or I showed them a source.
@IneptFredda The American education system is fucking atrocious though, with history provided through an exclusively political lense in order to create some coherent narrative of this nation being the "greatest on earth."
