‼️ Romanian presidential candidate Calin Georgescu detained

Calin Georgescu, a pro-Russian candidate in the presidential election, the results of which were canceled due to alleged Russian interference, has been detained in Romania.

The politician's car was stopped on the road and he was then taken to the Prosecutor General's Office for questioning.

Also arrested this morning were people from Georgescu's entourage who are suspected of a number of crimes, such as creating an organization of fascist, racist and xenophobic nature, as well as promoting the cult of people guilty of genocide or war crimes.

According to the Romanian Prosecutor General's Office, there is a clear link between the financing of Georgescu's election campaign and Russia.

An extensive network of fake accounts flooded TikTok with messages in support of Calin Georgescu during the presidential campaign. Romanian authorities believe that the network of propaganda bots was coordinated by the Russian Federation.

😀 Earlier, law enforcement officers found $10 million in cash and plane tickets to Moscow in an underground safe in the house of Georgescu's bodyguard.
