@fireandcuppa @footballfan8774 @FloSanni@emlymlner because young people are more inclined to keep up with love island stars than politics. it isn’t that there’s more of an outrage it’s that you’re seeing more of it. young people are the ones flooding to twitter. young people are the ones who know who molly mae is
@FloSanni @footballfan8774 @emlymlner No. Anyone with a platform is to be held responsible for contributing to harmful stereotypes of vulnerable groups. Especially those whose target demographics are young impressionable teens.
@zurginfinity @vanillaspitt@Chilly_07 as someone who is underprivileged you can - in some circumstances - work harder to get comfortable. but in next to none can you work harder to live a lavish lifestyle
@zurginfinity @vanillaspitt@Chilly_07 her comments implied that the only difference between the middle and upper classes and the lower are laziness and passivity. which is simply not true.
@zurginfinity @vanillaspitt@Chilly_07 no but that is my point entirely: hard work will get you somewhere. but it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll achieve every dream you’ve held since childhood - at least not for everyone.
@zurginfinity @vanillaspitt@Chilly_07 it’s like how some undiscovered singers are truly gifted whilst some famous pop stars are mediocre at best. a lot of it is being in the right place at the right time, and having the resources to maximise your effort.
subway rat made eye contact with me and said “join us. when the train comes we slide under the tracks and feel it rumble over us like a warm thunderstorm. we live forever and we love to live” I said no thank you I am too large he turned away from me I cried
@ContraPoints i would love to see a video on the co-opting of medical terms, self diagnosis and the trivialisation of mental illness through social media !!!
