“There is water scarcity in Delhi because a lot of the water that arrives gets evaporated due to the heat.” — Delhi CM Rekha Gupta
Wah Madamji wah! Taaliyan rukni nahi chahiye Mitron… 👏🏼 😃
One of the most horrifying scenes in human history has been revealed.
When Israel forced thousands in Gaza to collect flour mixed with sand due to severe famine.
A moment the world must never forget.
This is my biggest takeaway lately too: we can just distill the world.
It's part of why I stopped pushing further into robotics learning - it was the first field I pivoted into when I moved from SDE to AI. People in that field believe embodiment intelligence will evolve the way LLMs did, and that there's huge room for them to make the revolutionary contributions. I see it differently: the trajectory is right; the protagonist isn't us. It's AI that will do that work - the same logic as Anthropic going after code first: the bet wasn't that code was good business early on, it was that code helps the model improve itself. Once LLMs are good enough, they'll be the ones figuring out the best architecture for embodiment intelligence, at lightspeed. How to leave the solar system, even.
So the most useful thing we can do now is accelerate that process in our own way - high-quality data, good infra/envs/algorithms, smart resource scheduling -instead of 螳臂当车. The wheel of history isn't stopping. We're at the beginning of infinity.
And I really want to work on the most critical problems with the best people. It's so close to where I've already been.
Who else is noticing that seemingly the entire U.S. stock market is now driven by weapons manufacturers, AI surveillance technology developers, data center bubble builders and sick-care pharma bioweapons makers?
There seems to be zero incentive in the current grotesque economic system for building things that work and that HELP people live better lives. It's all about bombing them, spying on them, depopulating them or exploiting them for profit.
That's what the U.S. economic system has largely become, sadly.
Only 2% of people on Earth make >$100,000 per year
$100,000 is a lot of money so please don’t let anyone convince you otherwise
Social media will destroy your perception of “normal” quicker than anything else
If you make 6 figs per year, you are living better than 99% of people to ever exist
Economics of data centers:
$38bn of upfront build, and “on our working assumptions, a 1GW GB200-class facility could support roughly $14 billion of annual infrastructure rental revenue, while a frontier AI provider can turn that rented compute into inference revenue at attractive margins, generating $35 billion+ annually on compute dedicated to AI inference.”
So 1 to 2.5 years of payback on a 15 year asset - pretty much unheard of margins on infrastructure and why hyperscalers are putting in $700bn this year and up to $1trn or more from 2028 and after. Mostly going to US data centers.
There’s pretty much no asset in the modern world that lets you deploy capital at this scale and get such high returns - and my thesis is that we’re still in an extremely compute constrained world as the manufacturers of chips and memory are still growing much slower than market demand and most of the demand is just US based companies (the rest of the world hasn’t yet grokked the high economic returns).
What the actual hell.
And you guys ask me why I don’t like AI. It’s because of the intentions behind it.
These people openly talk about turning intelligence into a utility they control and sell back to humanity like electricity.
One man or one company should never have that much influence over human thinking, creativity, learning, and decision making.
I genuinely don’t think kids should be heavily exposed to AI this early either. A generation growing up depending on machines to think for them is dangerous long term.
The illustrations in this book are one of the most shockingly beautiful and thoughtful and evocative I have ever seen. From a publisher that usually does general children's info books with cartoon illustrations. Encountering it as a child is a core memory
Listen carefully to this. As Christopher Olah, co founder of Anthropic speaks.
The Pope is saying: “AI must serve humanity and not concentrate power.”
Anthropic is saying: “AI is powerful, not fully understood, and needs to be controlled before it scales.”
The UN is saying: AI should be globally governed aligned with the SDGs, overseen through international cooperation & guided by “shared values” and “human rights frameworks”
None are saying: “the public should decide.” Just experts, frameworks and oversight because the public is too stupid to understand.
Here endeth your lesson on Democracy 💣
Humanity, created by God in all its grandeur, is today facing a pivotal choice: either to construct a new Tower of Babel or to build the city in which God and humanity dwell together. In Jesus Christ, this humanity in its grandeur becomes the Way, the Truth and the Life, opening the path for each of us to grow toward fullness. #MagnificaHumanitas

Proportion of species at risk of extinction within 4-5 decades: fish ~41-60%; amphibians ~47-50%; insects ~33-40%; reptiles ~25-30% plants ~39-45%; birds ~30-50% mammals ~37-40%
If you poured a gallon of poison in a CEO's pool, you'd be arrested, for attempted murder.
They pour 10,000 gallons into your drinking water, that's just business.
