notice how armand brings up certain dates only starting with 1990s and up, they are engraved in his memory. if he got randomly fascinated with a mortal boy why was this ancient 500 years old merciless vampire (and dont forget the laws) constantly saving his life, why was he doing so much to make sure he will be okay, in the books vampires can follow mortals for some time but do they make sure their life is good and they are safe? no.
what was so fascinating in watching that mortal boy sleep while sitting beside him on the bed? thats such a tender detail. remember the cloudy holes in daniel's memory throughout 70s?
eric talked about daniel finding out "how much armand has been a part of his life", armand still thinks he caused the most damage to daniel despite actually doing so much to make his life better, why he feels himself obligated to give daniel back a half of his life?
what does it mean if it's not even like he is leaving daniel all alone not influencing his existence in any way anymore (giving the reigns back to him), it's the opposite, he is ready to actually guide him, to finally give him what he wants, to redeem an act of cowardice #tvlspoilers
You can not just see the hurt, but also the conflict within Armand. He never thought he would tell the truth to Daniel, but Daniel disarms with in a way that just makes it easy for Armand to confess about what happened in Dubai.
