Yesterday Jan and I took a new ultra-magnification photo of #micrometeorite NMM 828. The stone is a "giant" micrometeorite, 0.5 mm long, and the new photo is 24000x24000 pixels, two and a half meters wide, which is almost exactly 5,000 times magnification! ⁠

@BraydenCreation Here is a collage of micrometeorites, most of which measure between 0.2-0.4 mm. They display a phenomenon we describe as "The Soap Bubble Effect", where crystallization in the molten rock is triggered by metal or other dense element.
