The Tawba Clinic by The Sameer Project has a malnutrition department where we get new cases every single day. Babies who are diagnosed as malnourished or extremely malnourished. Our doctors take the cases and provide supplements and formula for a few weeks until the baby or child gains weight.

The Sameer Project medical team got training from UNICEF on malnutrition and how to handle those cases. We have reached out to UNICEF to help provide the supplements rather than purchase them. Our goal is always to provide more aid for less money.

Schools opening was delayed in Gaza by the ministry of education due to the high temperatures, where children would struggle in tents to focus. However, the time has come and kids started schools this week in Gaza!

So many people in Gaza rely on The Sameer Project’s free bus routes for something that should never be considered a luxury: a dignified, consistent means of movement.

In the northern most areas of Beit Lahia, transportation has become increasingly difficult and dangerous. When families cannot afford a ride, they are forced to depend on overcrowded, unsafe alternatives, including carts pulled through damaged roads.

Our buses help people reach hospitals, schools, work, markets and essential services safely and without having to choose between transportation and another basic need, or even worse an unsafe situation just to get around.

Freedom of movement matters. Keeping these routes running matters. Support our General Fund to allow these important transportation initiatives to continue.

The babies and children at Al-Rantisi Children’s Hospital need support and care simply to survive. https://t.co/7JsjH7ke7j

Two month old Ayman relies on oxygen and is extremely vulnerable to bone fractures - his body is so fragile that even basic handling requires extraordinary care. Around him are other babies and children living with serious illnesses and injuries, many of whom urgently need treatment abroad.

Inside Gaza, they are receiving whatever care, medication, and supplies are still available. Doctors and nurses are fighting for every child with painfully limited resources.

The Sameer Project visited Al-Rantisi with a fruit distribution to provide additional nutritional support. Mothers are able to puree the fruit for their babies and children, giving them access to fresh vitamins and nutrients that are increasingly difficult to obtain.

We reached 102 children, for a total cost of only $340 for the fruit and transportation.

This is a small intervention in the face of enormous medical need - but for children surviving on the bare minimum, every source of nutrition and care matters. Donate to the Medical Campaign for more hospital distributions,help us continue showing up for Gaza’s children.
