@astro_luca @esa Alex is such a great human being (and @allspacekind leader!)

[SpaceForTrades.org @SpaceForTrades]

@Dr_Col_Jenni Mars has always seemed so strangely familiar to me. I think because growing up in western KS I saw many similar geologies!

[Ethan Atwell @astro_ethanarts]

It's a privilege, honor, and exhilaration to train with this amazing, diverse crew, and personally to be the first to represent #skilledtrades in #spaceflight training! Thank you @theinspired24 @uarizona 🚀

[Ethan Atwell @astro_ethanarts]

Here's one more with @JanetKavandi discussing potential new astronaut types. Still no direct mention of a pathway for tradespeople to work in space, but perhaps glowing just over the horizon! 🤞🤞🚀@SpaceForTrades #SpaceForTrades https://t.co/LqvzGIjGru

Somewhere, a tailor deserves recognition for constructing Shaun's flightsuit! #skilledtrades #SpaceForTrades

[ARIESanthro @ARIESanthro]

During #spaceflight, maintenance and operational tasks take up a great deal of astronauts’ time 👩‍🚀 Tradespeople are experts in this field, but there is still some reluctance to getting them involved in #spacesciences. @astro_ethanarts tells us more https://t.co/KH371taZwN

[ARIESanthro @ARIESanthro]

Seeing more of humanity living and working in space 👨‍🏭👩‍🔧 That’s the dream of @astro_ethanarts founder of @SpaceForTrades From this platform, Atwell works towards the integration of tradespeople in #spaceexploration - he tells us all in our latest blog 👉https://t.co/KH371taZwN

My interview with @ARIESanthro space anthropologist Peter Timko. From plumbers to prom dresses: the importance of Diversity & Inclusion in New Space, suitability of tradespeople for space, and the benefit to Humanity #space #anthropology #newspaceeconomy

@jtrentadams Also, trust our intuition. Humans, like other lifeforms, have survived not by thinking it through at length but by feeling the way forward in the moment. Call it gut, instinct, or genetic memory, on the whole we've managed to swim everytime, so far! (assuming a survival scenario)

[SpaceForTrades.org @SpaceForTrades]

@jtrentadams Tricky! My inclination would be initiating active listening to individual experiences and crew diversity, nothing is out-of-bounds. Life experiences big and small teach us sink vs swim lessons that can apply to wide range of challenges we often impose qualification on to solve.

[Ethan Atwell @astro_ethanarts]

Thanks to the interest my @SpaceForTrades initiative has gotten from #anthropology researchers (who knew?!), I've decided to take an anthropology class for my applied technologies degree (TBH it has a ton of useful application!). Hope to share some interviews/papers soon-ish!

@Dr_Col_Jenni Very nice!!

🚨 Opportunity for #underrepresented groups! 🚨
Let's use this to increase the power and reach of the diverse and inclusive #space analog community...
Diversity = creative solutions = solving for space = solving for Earth & Humanity! #analogastronaut

CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS
'Off-world Living Micro-Analogues'
Application deadline: 28 June
@UCL_Social_Sci

How do analogues help our understanding of what is required to live off-world? What novel and creative forms can they take to meet this challenge?

@the_cosmosphere @Astro_Nicole It's definitely on my list!

[Tim Peake @astro_timpeake]

Our oceans might seem vast, covering about 70% of the Earth's surface. But in terms of volume, you can see just how precious that water is. On #WorldOceansDay let's make a pledge to #RevitalizeTheOcean 🌍🌊

[SpaceForTrades.org @SpaceForTrades]

It's time to bring these tradespeople to Space! Commercial space is burgeoning, we are on its threshold. Let's add spaceflight certification to the training... through space analog research, reduced gravity flights, payload experiments, and eventually spaceflight! #spacefortrades

#SkillsUSA would like to recognize @USCG for supporting our students and educators in the #Hospitality and #Tourism trades.
