Indeed! I tell all my people with businesses they should always prioritize applicants with restaurant experience. Being a bartender made me a better teacher and a better human.
The suggestion that any job is “low skill” is a myth perpetuated by wealthy interests to justify inhumane working conditions, little/no healthcare, and low wages.
Plus being a waitress has made me and many others *better* at our jobs than those who’ve never known that life.

@JohnCleese As a teacher, I would say creativity is a major element of analysis and synthesis of information. Also, the whole goal is to develop thinking skills, which are ultimately creative. Perhaps society should stop demanding data and treating our clients as widgets. #testing#grades
Kill the 5-day workweek. Burn it with fire. Scatter the ashes to the wind. We need to get back to toiling less over time and having a goal of continually shorter weeks. The next step should be four 8-hr days followed by 4 6-hr days.
