We are not slowing down. 🚀
Our Artemis III mission will send four astronauts to low Earth orbit next year to test critical systems needed for future lunar landings https://t.co/G5CkHbQhFR and we’re accelerating efforts to ensure the success of Artemis IV, the first Artemis mission on the lunar surface https://t.co/zEDKEcLpXY.
China’s Long March 6A rocket left stunning, swirling trails in the evening sky on October 23 after lifting off from Shanxi Province. The rocket successfully delivered the Yaogan-50 03 satellite into orbit, designed for land surveys, agricultural monitoring and disaster prevention.

Never getting tired of watching this. The combination of a liquid kerosene core and four solid rocket boosters makes the Long March 6A’s "space jellyfish" completely unique.

Artemis III will be one of the most complex test missions in NASA history.
Launching in 2027, Artemis III astronauts will practice rendezvous and docking with two commercial lunar landers designed to carry crew from the Orion spacecraft to the lunar surface.
Details below ⬇️
Today, @NASA provided updates on the progress of its Artemis III mission next year, and to return astronauts to the lunar surface in 2028.
Our teams are accelerating Orion spacecraft production to support these missions. The heat shield for Orion Artemis IV already has its 186 tiles installed, ahead of previous schedules.
Ship 43 is conducting a cryogenic proof test at Massey's currently.

.@NASA and @Axiom_Space are advancing both the #AxEMU as well as a tailored configuration called the Sortie suit for moonwalkers to use during the early @NASAArtemis missions. The Sortie suit doesn’t replace the AxEMU but is a parallel effort to ensure flexibility in mission architecture. The Sortie configuration spacesuit is designed for short-duration lunar surface excursions.
Artemis III docking with Starship will be very short, only 2 hours, will not have any ingress or anything internal to Starship, just the docking. This was already known, but now firmed up. A bit of a bummer, I wish there was ECLSS and an interior as well.
