@ruthtaka I can, and I don’t know why it has to be an argument. It’s all opinion! SCAD isn’t for everyone. All three of my sisters and I are attending together and we’ve recieved a lot of financial aid to be where we are. I feel blessed to be able to go to SCAD.

@ruthtaka I’m doing my best? I started in 2017, and I swear I would not be at this school if it weren’t accredited! (It’s one of the only art schools that is.) This is my choice and I chose to accept debt for immediate art school after high school. I knew what I was getting myself into. 🤷‍♀️

@ruthtaka @gsu SCAD is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. And I can’t take animation classes at GSU. Also, less than half of us at SCAD are Georgia citizens. It’s a horrible BUSINESS, not a horrible school. 😕

The whole SCAD email was shitty, and Paula Wallace has been awful to us during quarantine. NO SHIT. 😔👍✨ But y’all non-SCAD-students also need to stop talking about SCAD like you know SCAD. It’s not a bad school, it’s a GREAT SCHOOL. Just the worst administration ever. 🌈 #SCAD

@dzdeeznutz @neo_mirai I have a LOOTTTT of financial aid so I’m not paying $200K, but for me the experience and education has been worth it. It all just depends on the student!!

@ProjectAlpha22 Yay! Thanks for that! I agree!! And we’ve gotten so many of these emails from them that I’ve started to just delete them before I even read them. 😂😔 It’s shitty!! I’m SO glad that SCAD’s getting publicity now, even if it’s bad, because up until recently we all felt so unheard!

@mdragonflame @neo_mirai RIGHT!! OOOH I’m tired of it. 😂 Everyone’s different, so it’s about taking your own learning style into consideration. I was also a huge introvert before SCAD and working on short films with others has forced me to come out of my shell and communicate more with others. 🙋‍♀️💫

@emily_clasen I’m a triplet and all 3 of my sisters and I are attending SCAD at the same time. 😂 It’s still out of our price range, but we have help from SCAD. To ME it’s worth it, because I can SEE myself evolving as an artist. Once you get through that first year, it’s an uphill climb. 🥺

Going into a collaborative career, I’ve really benefitted from working on films with other students and having that schedule and talking with professors in the industry. ✨ But right, it depends on what kind of person you are! It’s not like SCAD is a hell hole though. 😂

@neo_mirai I’m an animation junior and I literally JUST finished up my senior film pitch for next year. I’m stoked on how far I’ve come and I think if you have the drive and you want to go into an artistic career, SCAD is a good choice. People on Twitter just 💖 complaining. 😂

@neo_mirai Not at all! I couldn’t learn half of what I’m doing alone. The biggest problems I’ve faced have only just arisen with the COVID-19 response. On site, I would only have little problems like with housing and registration—but nothing ever made me not want to be at SCAD anymore. 😢✨

@mrcollinscott Right!! Like, I’m here for animation. Not the business or the finances or the housing or loans or SHITTY EMAILS, or anything. That’s what we suffer through to get the education we felt we couldn’t get at a normal school. 😡🔥 And we work hard!!

@iamnotkenzii Right, like I’ve grown so much as an artist from professors at SCAD. 😂🥺 We suffer under the administration, not the professors. (With a few professor exceptions lol.)

Last thing about SCAD, okay: the people who have never been to SCAD that saw SCAD blowing up on Twitter and said “I almost went to SCAD” and now they hate SCAD and are SCAD experts all of a sudden. I love them. 🥳✨ #SCAD Hate on the BUSINESS. Not the art, profs, and students. 👀

@WindTitty Oml SCAD sent out this awful guilt-tripping email to everyone. 😂 They don’t want us to take a quarter off bc they’ll lose money but they were like “you’re bad students and you won’t graduate if you take time off.” 😔 But now all of SCAD is getting shit on, not just the admins.
