I’ll be honest. I don’t think they’ll get rid of that category. That isn’t the only issue. The issue is that even if they submit to other categories, the committee could default them to that one. In addition, some voters have so little decorum that they would ignore them in main categories because they only see them in THAT category. And THAT is the problem.
Okay so.
While I think some criticism directed at BigHit is fair, I also think we're spending far too much energy on things we simply CANNOT verify or control. Most of us don't know what happens behind closed doors, and that's okay. What we do know is what our role as a fandom has always been. And stanning BTS is supposed to be FUN and dwelling over things we CANNOT control is exhausting us out.
The company creates the opportunity. WE amplify it.
- The company gave us the "What Is Your Love Song?" campaign. WE amplify it.
- The company gave us the Keep Swimming campaign. WE amplify it.
- The company is doing BTS THE CITY: ARIRANG. WE amplify it.
- The company gave us the "Normal" promotional rollout (ik its not a lot) but WE amplify it.
- The BCD "Normal" template was there for us to use. We could have turned it into our own viral trend like BRAT by making thousands of creative versions and sharing them everywhere. WE CAN STILL WORK ON THAT.
- The tour is happening. WE amplify the performances, the stage production, the vocals, the choreography, and the live clips on all the platforms.
- WE talk about the album, the lyrics, the production, and the documentary so new audiences discover BTS through their artistry.
- WE learn BASIC editing, make fun edits, and tie BTS into current cultural moments. I spent the football season making football edits with BTS songs despite barely knowing how to edit.
Right now, Spider-Man is everywhere make Spider-Man edits with BTS music and share them. That's how fan culture grows.
There are also things that are largely OUTSIDE of our control: playlisting, radio strategy, and many industry decisions. Those conversations are VALID, but they shouldn't consume all of our energy.
There is so much more within our control than we sometimes realize and that's where our collective effort can make the biggest impact. So, lets try and do things what WE CAN DO instead of JUST dwelling on things that are NOT IN OUR CONTROL.
Bring back strict ARMY policy
1. You don't fckin shove a camera in BT5' face but up ur ass
2. U don't record BT5 on their private time
3. U don't share videos/pics if a dmbass breaks da first two policies
4. U leave BTS tf alone if u see em in public
just because bangtan likes a song, a group, an actor or whatever doesn't mean i have to like it too. they can do whatever in their free time. i'm here for them & their music. as long as they're happy, i'm happy. nothing else matters. idk about yall but it's pretty simple for me
