Ahead of the #BRICS2026 Summit, New Delhi is ready to welcome global delegates with a blend of India’s heritage and a vibrant new look.

Mahatma Gandhi’s illuminated Charkha at Connaught Place has emerged as a striking symbol of the preparations, while ‘BRICS INDIA 2026’ lights up Rail Bhawan.

The @tweetndmc has revamped 41 key roads, illuminated 17 major roundabouts and 10 prominent buildings, and placed over 15,000 potted plants across the area.

By day, flowers and greenery; by night, decorative lights and BRICS colours New Delhi is all set for the summit.

Shine at the BRICS venue, mismanagement just a few steps away!
Ahead of the BRICS meeting in Delhi on September 11, the ground reality appears to be very different from the claims of preparedness. Garbage piles, broken footpaths and poorly maintained dividers can be seen around prominent locations such as New Delhi House, Naurang House and KG Marg.
Rain has already exposed gaps in the drainage system; now garbage and poor upkeep are raising fresh questions.
Is preparation for an international event limited only to beautifying the venue? If foreign delegates travel through these roads, what image of the Capital will they take back?
