Working in the coal breakers is very hard and dangerous, especially for children. It is common for an accident to occur, such as crushed or broken fingers. They are also breathing in clouds of dust which can cause asthma. Children should not working in such dangerous conditions!

Helping kids get better working conditions will benefit everyone and will lower the number of injuries. I will get them better conditions!

I became a muckraker to help the devastating problems with child labor laws. I wanted to find a solution to stop child labor laws from being inhumane.

The current United States Secretary of Labor needs to do more and enforce or suggest laws that would benefit the workplace and the children working.

All that the employers want to do is make a profit, they do not care about their workers and what conditions they are working in. This needs to change!

In addition to children, women also had to work in unsanitary conditions for less pay.

Every child should have the right to be well-born into this world. Every mother should be unafraid of the future for her baby and not have to worry about them going to work and getting hurt.

When I was a child, I had to work in tin mines and granite quarries. I was often unhappy and hungry, and I had to quit school. I wish that someone had stood up to improve the horrible working conditions earlier.
