Had a great time facilitating an overview session on agile scrum for @spark_tank 's aspiring young professionals! I can't wait to see what students accomplish this year in this innovative #authenticlearning program! @GPAEA@AEAlearning@IowaALN
One of our favorite projects from last year has come to completion- the Ottumwa Welcome Book designed by our students has been PRINTED! #authenticlearning
Rosie and Perla continued work on our website that was started by last year’s associates. They not only made it look cool and concise but also learned about each of our partners and projects. We look forward to adding to their pages! #sparktankspotlight
Thatcher let us know early on he likes the outdoors. So we thought his passion would be great for work on the Jasper County Parks and Rec App. Thatcher, you were always easy to get along with and anyone could start a conversation with you, especially about archery!
Brendon created a logo for Iowa Alerts in Wapello County and researched app design and development for our program and Jasper County. Brendon, you’ve got a great eye for minimalist design and I hope you continue down the path of graphic design. Best of luck! #sparktankspotlight
Jose came in with a great understanding of how different softwares worked. This played into all three projects he worked on: OHS Culture Fair poster, Why Ottumwa Video, and Postsecondary Website. Jose, your commitment to your projects and clients was greatly appreciated by all.
When Matt wasn’t beating us all at ping pong, he was facilitating projects. He worked on OHS Culture Fair poster, Why Ottumwa Video, and OHS Post Secondary Website. Matt, your ability to think and act on the spot helped develop a key problem solving skill. #sparktankspotlight
The Ignite group took on Mr. Cochran’s sales class media promotion project. The project included producing online posters, and informational online material. The group worked with Mr. Cochran to increase the response to their annual blood-drive. #sparktankspotlight
Adrian dived into the world of media by taking pictures for @OttumwaGBB Twitter feed, flying the drone for a video, and developing two websites. Adrian, you have an inner knack for problem solving through dedicated research and a skill for clearly presenting your findings.
The group accepted Ms. Walker’s project to design and manufacture a coffee cart that the FCS dept could use for selling coffee and pastries. The students conducted many interviews, shared progress with Ms. Walker, and it was finished before the deadline. #sparktankspotlight
Aaliyah was part of our App research with projects in SparkTank and Jasper County Parks and Rec. She had background in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript so this was the next best step for her. Aaliyah, your honesty and drive made you both a good leader and good group member.
Braedon’s outgoing personality along with his self-drive and motivation, helped to create a focused work environment. A few of his projects included a presentation for ROTC, LemonadeDay publications and a design for a sign at Pickwick Elementary School. Thank you Braedon!

Cont: I thoroughly enjoyed working with you and would like to tackle another project of this magnitude. Through our collaborative work we produced a product that will impact this community for years by telling a story some never experienced and one some will never forget.
Client quote: Korbin, you took this project on as if it were your own. You brought in components that I had not thought of such as the intro, the music for the intro, the trailer, the slicing and dicing, all which added to the beauty of the final production. #sparktankspotlight
