Every. Single. Time.
A BTS brand collab gets announced. BTS might perform at a festival. There’s speculation about them performing somewhere or attending an award show. And somehow, the FIRST people to start criticizing the fuck out of BTS are ARMYs themselves (a lot of times stupid multis too.)
And I genuinely do not understand this maniac behavior. It is NOT about you. It is not about what you want BTS to do. It is not about what you think they should do. It is not about your fears, your morals, your expectations, your personal boundaries or what you would choose if you were in their position.
It is about what BTS wants.
If BTS choose to perform somewhere, collaborate with a brand, attend an award show or participate in an event, that is their OWN fucking choice. You do not have to like every decision they make, but stop acting as if BTS need to make the decisions that YOU would make.
And I think this same fucking entitlement is also where the constant micro-analysis comes from. Because the moment something happens, people immediately start speaking FOR BTS.
"BTS looked so sad after the performance."
"They felt disrespected."
"They clearly didn't want to be there."
"You could tell they were uncomfortable."
"They must have been upset about this."
SHUT THE FUCK UP. You do not know that.
You do not know what their expressions mean. You do not know what their body language means. You do not know what happened backstage. You do not know what they were thinking or feeling in that moment. You do not know what BTS is feeling unless BTS themselves tell you what they are feeling.
And this is exactly why you need to stop projecting yourself onto them. You're taking your interpretation, your discomfort, your fears and your morals and turning them into something BTS supposedly thinks or feels.
Then you use that completely unconfirmed narrative to criticize their own choices. Do you see the problem?
You are not the main character here. BTS is.
They are seven grown adults who are fully capable of deciding what they want to do and speaking for themselves. You are not going to decide what BTS should want. You are not going to decide where they should perform. You are not going to decide which opportunities they should take. And you certainly do not get to speak on their behalf when they haven't fucking spoken.
So stop treating every BTS decision like it needs to pass through the ARMY approval committee. Stop treating your assumptions as facts. Stop projecting your feelings onto them. Stop speaking for them.
Let BTS make their own fucking choices. It is not about you. Either enjoy what they choose to do or don't. But for the love of God, stop acting like you know BTS better than BTS know themselves.
This is geninely a sick behaviour. Get cured.
