Harvard kids singing Radiohead’s “Creep.”
This could have gone very wrong.
Then the lead singer opens his mouth.
The Harvard Veritones have won at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella — the real-world competition that inspired Pitch Perfect.
Turn the sound on for this one.
Some high school kids were talking and said “No way Gen X wrote 10-page papers without AI.”
Oh, honey.
We wrote them without reading the book…the night before they were due…by hand and in cursive.
We are not the same.
My husband traveled quite a bit when our children were younger. He happened to be out of town one week when I got horribly sick. I didn’t realize I was that sick until the night I was up with our infant daughter and I was so feverish that I was struggling to take care of her. I had no one to call as my whole family lived in other states. We also had a four year old at the time who was going to be up in a few hours needing care. I mustered all of the strength I had to get my baby fed, changed and back in her crib before crawling into my own bed. It was one of my hardest moments as a young mother but I did it because it had to be done.
Even that experience isn’t as remotely as hard as what generations of mothers have had to endure throughout history. They just got it done because there was no other choice.
This trend of mothers filming themselves with their babies and the “I am Lindsay” slogan is incomprehensible to me. Most aren’t even talking about PPD but simply complaining about what EVERY mother has had to deal with for all of history albeit without the incredible technology that makes our lives exponentially easier.
Women need more humility and less fragility. We need to stop talking and thinking about ourselves constantly. We need fewer slogans and more scripture.
I’m calling on the older women like myself to step into this space and be willing to hold the younger women to a higher standard. One that places a greater emphasis on sacrifice than selfishness.
I’m awake again, I hear the birds outside my window. I am tired but I am alive and I am grateful Lord. Even fatigue is a reminder of your charity and grace. Who am I to be fatigued, so many did not wake this morning. Gratitude can be the greatest source of faith, thank you Lord!
Christ Is King!
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those
who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen

Don't tell me how to be a Black woman! Taking hormones are optional. The idea that a Trans woman has to subject herself to BIG PHARMA, is just another way for cis normative people to turn us into a commodity. I’m an ALL NATURAL Black trans lesbian with a penile aesthetic.

I have some bad news
The CO teacher who was fired for allegedly forcing girls to make out in class got a new job as an elementary school teacher in Malley Drive Elementary School in @Adams12.

Every dollar Elon Musk has made is traceable. Every product sold, every service rendered, every government contract awarded, every share of stock bought or sold. It’s all on the record.
You, on the other hand, haven’t built a company, invented a product, or created anything people willingly pay for. You’ve spent the last 14 years collecting a $174,000 Senate salary.
Yet somehow you managed to buy a luxury D.C. condo, a $4 million Victorian mansion in Cambridge, and saw your net worth balloon by 150% to $12 million. Everyone knows where Musk’s money came from. The same can’t be said for yours.
In my darkest hour, I was facing over a decade in prison. Financial ruin. From the top to what felt like the absolute bottom. People were telling me, “Enjoy your kids now, because the next time you see them they’ll be graduating high school.”
That darkness does something to you.
Most of you know I travel a lot. What you don’t know is I actually hate flying. Turbulence terrifies me. Always has. Still does.
I was on a flight to meet my legal team. My life as I knew it felt destroyed. We hit brutal turbulence. Some of the worst I’ve ever experienced. I was sitting by the window staring out into the world.
Then something hit me.
For the first time in my life, I didn’t care, I wasn’t scared of the turbulence.
A thought entered my head:
“Who gives a shit? What am I gonna do, die? Maybe it would even be easier.”
And the second that thought entered my mind, I was disgusted with myself.
I thought about my wife, who’s been with me since we were kids. I thought about my three beautiful children God gave us after a decade of infertility. I thought about my family, who wouldn’t care if we lost everything and ended up packed into a tiny apartment together because all we truly had was each other.
That split second changed me.
I realized darkness will whisper to every man at some point in life. It comes when you’re exhausted, terrified, humiliated, crushed, and cornered.
But men fight back.
Men carry the weight.
Men protect.
Men build.
Men take pain and turn it into fuel.
So no, I’m not going to apologize for saying a man abandoning his children through suicide is selfish and devastating. I know what darkness feels like. I stared directly into it myself.
You put your head down.
You pick your eyes up.
You keep moving.
You lead your family through hell if you have to.
That’s what men do.
Hopefully this isn’t controversial, but if I’m paying for a streaming service, there shouldn’t be ads period. Not on Disney+, Amazon, Hulu, none of it.
Ads belong on free versions of these platforms. If advertisers are already paying to run their ads, why am I also paying to watch them?
@RepMTG I want to support the shutdown on principle, but there are good people working for the government and military that live paycheck to paycheck and this is really scary for them.
