The successful producers/rappers that I have seen grow over the years just went out & did it-- they released music/beats & never quit.
They didn't ask "how" & they didn't let the success of others intimidate them from trying.
They took initiative & learned and grew on the way.
A lotta people with great beats! The ones cutting through the noise are the ones going out of their way to meet people. Not just people more successful than them, but their PEERS.
Producers, we need to define the word "placement."
To me, a placement means you're getting paid for your music to be "placed" on a major album/media project/etc. Something career-changing.
Not a free mixtape or a feature you paid for or some random song that got 47 plays.
People ask me all the time what the early stages of the grind was like and if I ever thought about quitting when times were hard. I had to record a 10 minute rant about it and throw it on my YouTube channel.

One of the best tips I can give an upcoming Artist or Producer is to stop looking at other peoples path to success and create your own. Everyone has a different way.
Producers
Keep your real life, non music making friends close. So many people become “producers” and get sucked into this simulation of collabing and making beats with ppl through social media.
That shit not healthy and it’ll turn you into a weirdo. Stay grounded.
