2.5 inches of rain on the course in the last 24 hours. We have standing water on multiple greens. The course will be closed until noon, at which time we will re-evaluate and see if we can open today.
2.5 inches of rain yesterday has left our course soaked! With puddles on the greens the course will be closed this morning 4/29/23. We will reasses this afternoon to see if we will be able to open at all. Sorry for any inconvenience
From start to finish our first bunker is complete. New shape, New drainage, New sand. Now we will put this to the test with over an inch and a half of rain expected tomorrow π€
We have started our bunker reworking. All work done in-house by grounds crew staff. Step 1: Remove all sand that's currently in the bunker. We have taken out up to 16 inches of sand at the bottom of this bunker!! USGA recommends 4 inches!
After another 3 inches of rain in the past few days, we are going to be aerifying the greens with needle tines to help reduce compaction and allow for water to percolate through the soil more efficiently. This will have a minimal disruption to play, but huge impact on turf health
We started working on fixing the "bird bath" areas in fairways last week. Not just re-sodding, but digging out and replacing compacted soil so this problem is less likely to re-occur.
