Aston Villa end their 30 year wait for a trophy in Europe.
Spurs ended a 17 year wait for a trophy in Europe.
West Ham ended a 43 year wait for a trophy in Europe.
Palace have a very good chance of winning their first European trophy next week.
Massive congratulations to Villa and I don't mean to take anything away from those teams, or their supporters...
But the financial advantage that the Premier League has over the rest of Europe, appears to have ruined the competitive balance in the Europa League and Conference League.
Real Madrid, Bayern, PSG, Barcelona, they'll always be able to compete in the Champions League due to their immense pull in attracting the best talent...
But in the two competitions below? Different story.
But take tonight's game...
Aston Villa wage bill for 24/25 was reportedly £273m, Freiburg's was £20.6m.
That's just not a level playing field!
Going into the final hours of the window, this is the first time in over 10 years when I've felt the balance of the team is looking good, and that we've addressed the right areas in the transfer market.
There'll be no panic business before the deadline. Thank you, INEOS! 💯
18 - Four of the last five 90th minute winning goals in the Premier League by players aged 18 or younger have been Manchester United players:
Federico Macheda (April 2009 v Aston Villa)
Marcus Rashford (August 2016 v Hull)
Alejandro Garnacho (November 2022 v Fulham)
Kobbie Mainoo (February 2024 v Wolves)
Carrington.
A few things to be grateful for as a United fan in 2023:
- A trophy after 6 long years
- Kobbie Mainoo
- Glazers finally parting with sporting control
- A new club structure being implemented
Let's hope 2024 ends better than this year. It can only get better from here.

If Paqueta goes to City, it's more than likely McT heads to West Ham. While I'd prefer Scott to stay, I trust Erik, and everything he's done till now has been spot on. The next few days will be key to the dominoes and how they fall.
