A thrilling experience presenting my research at the INSIGHTS Public Lecture @UniofNewcastle last night. Received an amazing after-session response from attendees, with hot-burning questions.

A reputable journal's assistant editor quickly rejected my article, saying it didn’t fit the journal's scope. But today, I got a request from the Editor-in-Chief to review an article on the same theme with similar content. Interesting!

Julia is among the scientific languages with growing ecosystem. One of the best things about Julia is: it uses 1-based indexing - i.e., first element of an array A is A[1], unlike A[0] in Python.
This 0-indexing still haunts me!🙄

Storm Eowyn is now developing a hook shape associated with sting jets and their devastating high winds. Increasing frequency of these storms is consistent with climate change. https://t.co/oS4hyX4Upl
@ed_hawkins The extreme weather events we are experiencing now at 1.5 degrees of warming are already terrifying. I don't think that most members of the public realise that now is the least extreme climate they will experience in their lifetimes. We will definitely regret our inaction.
It is absolutely crucial to critically evaluate your own work and sincerely reflect on whether your research genuinely contributes to the existing body of knowledge or has real-world impact. This process can open new perspectives for your research.
