Great that general #climate#skepticism is dying, but obstruction of responses by deniers can become even more damaging, and disproportionately harm the most #vulnerable, usually protecting vested interests in the status quo. Always look for the money behind an argument.

He encourages people to stop thinking about plastics as being the enemy & that we should think of solutions to include it back in the circular economy. We need to understand the value of plastics and the opportunities it can present. @wiomsa#WIOMSA2022
Chris Whyte also points out that not all plastics can be used, but can be converted back into energy. Instead of dumping it in landfills, we need solutions to convert it back to energy. This could also contribute to Africa’s energy needs. @wiomsa#WIOMSA2022
They do a lot of testing & a lot of effort is put into making the products affordable, useful & that will last for a long time. Working with people is also important, coz they can collect the plastic. It can give jobs to people and also remove plastics from land and coasts.
Chris Whyte, entrepreneur, is presenting ways to deal w/ plastic pollution by integrating recycling & plastics in the Circular economy. Products from plastics promoted are often high-end & people can’t afford them. Not practical either! @wiomsa
But the idea is there, we can use plastics in everyday life & integrate it to the circular economy. Their company are working with Sustainable Seas Trust to come up with products for everyday use.
