Here’s something I love:
When central office staff remember what it’s like to work in a school...
And principals remember what it’s like to be a teacher...
And teachers remember what it’s like to be a student.
And we all remember that it’s about the kids.
One of my favorite teachers growing up had these “witch/monster fingers” she gave us to help us follow along as we read. I love that I get to pass on this magic trick. ✨ “It’s really making the words easier & I’m reading better! It really is magic!!”
these “what can you buy with $___?” task cards were going to be a math table station...but we had ants in our pants 🐜 so we monster-stomped/tippy toed/moon-walked/booty kicked together around the room to “shop” for kitchen supplies instead 💵 🍽 🤪
Here’s the secret to building relationships:
Actually like kids
That’s it.
No fancy handshakes, no dancing and singing like a fool every morning. That stuff is for show and kids know it.
Just like kids. It’s easy. And if you don’t, find something else to do.
Every day seems like a rush with all there is to do.
But you won’t regret making time to...
1. Listen to your students
2. Laugh with your students
3. Encourage your students
4. Enjoy your students
5. Celebrate your students
6. Learn more about your students
ClemsonLIFE students met with Clemson football players, and taught coach Dabo Swinney and the team a thing or two about dancing. https://t.co/uFnosx7FQs
Today is International #SignLanguagesDay! Take a look back on a message from one of our @NASA_Astronauts Tracy Caldwell Dyson, which she sent from the @Space_Station in American Sign Language: https://t.co/b5ipX94qBL
