Every year in September, the members of our staff read aloud the names of those who lived through or suffered from the Blockade of Leningrad and tell about our tactile books on the subject.
Our aim is to deliver information to people with sight loss. However, we understand that every person is unique and may have different communication skills, that's why we print books based on Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).
When visiting the art literature reading room, don't forget to have a look at the walls. The library received a 3D copy of Rembrandt's Self-Portrait with Shaded Eyes from The State Hermitage Museum in April 2021 right before our opening for the visitors after the reconstruction.
Meet our new edition 'Winter Notes on Summer Impressions' by Fyodor Dostoevsky. According to your reading preferences, you can read it in large font format or listen to a talking book. #booksforblind#library
