Arrangements on the album followed an unusual process: Corgan wrote the basic structure for each song and the melody was split into four sections based on the pitch. The production team then programmed synth melodies in each voicing, combining them into a multitrack recording.

The music video features the band in Batman-like costumes floating in front of Batman imagery. It is one of two to have a different drummer than Chamberlin and is the only video with Walker on drums before his departure. The video was nominated for Best Direction at the MTV VMAs.
