We are listening when the time is taken to speak with us. We have had many meetings and discussions with a plethora of political, religious and civic representatives from right across our communities and remain committed to ongoing engagement with all of them. Despite taking up his post some four years ago, unfortunately no one individually or corporately from @sinnfeinireland have requested or taken the opportunity to formally meet privately with our Chair to discuss this issue or indeed any matters.
We were extremely surprised to hear Deputy Mayor for Policing Kaya Comer-Schwartz tell the London Assembly's Police and Crime Committee today that she has "regular meetings with Staff Associations" from the force to gauge police morale. https://t.co/NmSiZiSXKO
We have written to the Director of Public Prosecutions following the recent Elbit protest verdicts, in which a police officer was seriously injured.
Our duty is to speak up when outcomes risk impacting officer safety and future public order policing.
🧵
We’ve written publicly to @ZackPolanski following his comments on recent Elbit protest verdicts.
Welcoming outcomes while failing to acknowledge a police officer being seriously injured matters.
Empathy for those harmed in the line of duty should never be optional.
It's time to get rid of the usual black police fleece, it offers nothing but cost......Our uniform is not fit for cold weather, look to upgrade to puffa style jackets like ambo.
“Management advice at best…”
That’s what I thought when I saw this story.
A cop now under investigation by PSD, for what? A comment.
We’re living in a time where anyone with a smartphone can point a camera in a police officer’s face and call it “auditing.”
Wannabe journalists are pushing boundaries and hoping for a reaction.
Years ago, that kind of behaviour would’ve been dealt with quickly. If someone was getting too close, obstructing, or trying to provoke they’d get one warning. Then they’d be locked up.
Now, officers are expected to smile through it.
To stay calm while being filmed, baited, and shouted at, even when they’ve just dealt with something traumatic, or are heading straight into another high-stress job.
We need national guidance on how to deal with this because it’s getting out of hand.
The officer in that video looked frustrated. I get it.
In my view? A quiet word from her inspector would’ve been enough. Management advice, not an investigation.

His killers are still protected by the local community in Tottenham and remain at large on the streets. 40 stab and slash wounds were recorded… Rest In Peace.
Once again @PFEW_HQ failing to read the room, using the incredible bravery of our colleagues to showcase someone who suggests our TBL patches are 'White Nationalist' symbols. #BlueLivesMatter
Sabotaging military equipment of this nation is domestic terrorism.
Attacking Police with a sledgehammer whilst trashing a factory making military related equipment is domestic terrorism.
Welcome to the "Find Out" stage.
The CEO salary is an insult to every bobby who is effectively forced to pay for it.
National Board of @PFEW_HQ appointed him with no consultation or vote by Branch officials.
A “representative” body with an unelected, unaccountable leadership removing critics with impunity!
