Jaylen Brown on Joel Embiid:
“We didn't really have the answers for him. We tried a bunch of different things. He's a big body. He also was flopping around. He got some extra calls ... they rewarded him for that, but that's the league we’re in.”
@Xlearner1984 @pierretheBezst @worldofreel You said he’s never spent meaningful time around black people, which is obviously not true. Keep moving the goalposts until they’ve fallen off the earth buddy
@Xlearner1984 @pierretheBezst @worldofreel Leo being the hero of the movie is a misread too and I’d examine that further. Especially given some of the films you mentioned, where white men are actually portrayed as the heroes in the text of the films despite their supporting casts being made of people from other races
@Xlearner1984 @pierretheBezst @worldofreel Well, it’s fiction. Second, there’s plenty of characters in the ensemble that portray a lot of different types of people across different kinds of races. And it’s not farfetched that minorities would be the victim of militarized violence because of a personal vendetta.
@pierretheBezst @Xlearner1984@worldofreel Why though? It’s established early on that he drops everything to take care of the baby. Then he uproots his home to keep the baby safe. Then he cries when it’s mentioned she’s a good student. Why wouldn’t he keep going to these lengths to protect her?
@pierretheBezst @Xlearner1984@worldofreel DiCaprio not being believable as a father is the point though he literally delivers an entire scene saying that he doesn’t know how to be a father to the point where he can’t even brush her hair.
