Timelapse of a neglected Gurgaon plots 290-220 sector-38, a prime area, over 3 years. Countless complaints @MunCorpGurugram yet no permanent solution even now for sewage/waterlogging. Notice the building constructed to completion @cmohry@DC_Gurugram@HTGurgaon@YTKDIndia
The permanent mound of malba carpeted on the road is still there in front of plot 287 sector 38 Gurgaon. Causes even more waterlogging on our side and dust pollution when dry. Also damages road. No equipment sent to clean this carpeted malba even now by @MunCorpGurugram
No action as well on the heavily encroached storm drain at plot 220 or for clearing inlets, which is core reason of waterlogging. While this mound worsens waterlogging on our side by preventing water to flow down the street @cmohry@DC_Gurugram@CPCB_OFFICIAL
Road is getting more and more damaged because of this as well. No accountability for thekedars here
Plot 220 sector 38 Gurgaon has encroached the only storm drain and plot 287 has openly dumped all their C&D material in the open which pollutes whole area. No action on either by @MunCorpGurugram even after @CPCB_OFFICIAL escalations, fake promises, false complaint closures. We have raised countless complaints. JEs here don’t care. There is clear favouritism here to let these thekedars do whatever they want while we suffer throughout the year. Waterlogging & sewer overflow when it rains, broken roads, severe dust & polluted streets otherwise. Same story every year almost @cmohry@DC_Gurugram
How many more months and years of complaining is it going to take? Area around Plot 287 sector 38 Gurgaon. This is the same place from August 2025. ZERO IMPROVEMENT. Despite being echoed via various mediums. Despite countless complaints and mails. No scope for improvement by @MunCorpGurugram while they run false campaigns and close complaints without resolution. This place has its drains heavily encroached, the thekedars are out of control here, the road is buried under a permanent mound of malba and the slightest rain/water causes days and weeks of waterlogging. Sewage overflow eventually begins and this lasts the whole festive season. Even last Diwali went like this. How can more than a year pass with no solution and no action on the JEs neglecting such a main area near Bakhtawar Chowk. It is the only place here that faces this issue. Meanwhile @DC_Gurugram only holds meetings and does not hold anyone accountable. Horrible situation even now. My whole timeline over the years is filled with this issue @cmohry@CPCB_OFFICIAL@TOIGurgaon
@gurgaon_live I guess never, this spot has been a pain point for residents for over a year now: perennial waterlogging & C&D waste. Issue has even been in news & echoed by many others. Yet @MunCorpGurugram stands firm with thekedars of sec-38 @cmohry@DC_Gurugram

@Prateek34381357@dtptraffic@DelhiPolice if you do not take action on such incidences and maintain silence they will only increase. These people get more confident when they get away. The plate is clearly visible and this was a clear attempt at grievous assault

I just want to say this to the person in Hyundai Creta
“Sir, I'm sorry about the other day. I was in a hurry and couldn't stop my car for you when you overtly car. At signal, a bike had stopped in front of me and blocked my way, which ended up causing you inconvenience. I sincerely apologise for that.”

@MunCorpGurugram this plot 264 sector 38 Gurgaon is once again being used as a common dumping ground for garbage. It has become a hotspot, need a permanent solution. Completely open plot. Already this whole area is suffering from C&D pollution too @DC_Gurugram
10 years later, renewing a passport in Gurugram still feels like an obstacle course.
I applied for a passport re-issue under Tatkaal. The police have already visited my residence, yet I’m being asked to produce 2 local witnesses and self-attested copies of their IDs — with a threat of cancellation if I fail.
But in its Annual Report 2018–19 (p. 26), the MEA described a revised police-verification framework focused on nationality and criminality.
And on 8 August 2018, The Times of India explicitly reported that Gurugram had scrapped the two-neighbour reference requirement, including signatures and address proofs.

I faced difficulties obtaining a passport a decade ago. Why, after 10 years, is renewing one in Gurugram still this difficult?
If the requirement has been reintroduced, where is the written order? Why is the applicant responsible for obtaining neighbours’ personal documents, and what authorises cancellation for failing to do so?
Opaque rules and threats create room for arbitrary pressure and potential malpractice. Citizens deserve transparent, consistent and accountable verification.

Water reaches concretised base of the electric pole often & stays for days. High risk of electrocution. Check the encroachment almost half the road overtaken & drain raised with no inlet plots 290-222 sec 38 Gurgaon @MunCorpGurugram@cmohry@thetribunechd@HTGurgaon@GauriSarin
Same place from last Diwali, will be the same this time too and we will spend another festive season in this condition. The issues are only increasing because of the freedom given by @MunCorpGurugram to the area’s thekedars. Malba dumping/flowing in drains & sewers, road buried under permanent C&D material, encroached and blocked inlets, the most horrible waterlogging of the whole area, pollution etc.
When this is all out in the open and no action is taken, how can we believe such statements by @DC_Gurugram
It is a matter of shame, living in a core sector like sec 38. Look at condition of our area plots 290-285, sec 38 Gurgaon. Sewers overflowing since Diwali. Nobody from @MunCorpGurugram bothering to fix. Sewage problem since 2 years @cmohry@DC_Gurugram please help @HTGurgaon
Finally managed to unblock our sewer by spending own money. Look at excavated malba that was blocking it. Still no action by @MunCorpGurugram on thekedar who is still dumping all this C&D waste everywhere in our area at plot 287, sector 38 Gurgaon @cmohry@DC_Gurugram@HTGurgaon
Great move, I think I may also need to take a similar step due to the total neglect shown by @MunCorpGurugram in resolving the waterlogging in our area due to encroachment & construction activity, with no curbs on the thekedars and how they keep dumping material anywhere or cementing storm drains. Proof of falsely closed complaints is also there, with even emails that I have written to them. Been complaining about this permanent issue of waterlogging since 3-4 years almost

Roads in Gurugram are broken.. I have filed CWP in HC about broken road in front of my house.. Hon'ble HC summoned @MunCorpGurugram Commissioner & when he passed on the buck to @OfficialGMDA then it's CEO summoned for next hearing. Only Court can help..@Suhelseth@IndianExpress
@ifOnlyKantala This is all for shock value at this point to get views I think. I have known a lot of unhealthy office eaters but none of them ate every hour while working. Especially at their desks 😂
Gurugram has all the ingredients for a high-pollution mix and thus recipe we have perfected- repeating it day after day, year after year.
Dear @CAQM_Official@CPCB_OFFICIAL
Please let us know what should residents do to get the situation
📍Sector 23A dust-filled road along a 1 km stretch, from the traffic light to Shamshaan Road and Janam Divas Park Road.
We don’t doubt the capabilities of our authorities. But without adequate resources ; manpower, machinery and money…how will this ever get the attention and action it needs?

@kashblrk@rpodelhi@passportsevamea@MEAIndia I agree, I have gone through MEA criteria thoroughly, checked reddit that is flooded with passport troubles and malpractice episodes during verification. I thought things would have changed over 10 years but they are still as confusing.
Follow-up on my Tatkaal passport verification in Gurugram. @rpodelhi@passportsevamea@MEAIndia
I applied for a passport re-issue under Tatkaal. My passport was issued, dispatched on 30 September 2026, and received. Yet the police verification process has caused considerable mental stress for me and my family.
During verification, I was explicitly threatened with cancellation of the verification if I failed to produce two local witnesses and self-attested copies of their identity documents.
This was despite my having submitted my residence proofs, all required personal documents, and even documents of my brother and wife. The police had also already visited my residence. I have cooperated with the process and provided documentation, yet I was threatened with cancellation over neighbours’ ID copies.
Obtaining private identity documents from neighbours is not straightforward. People have legitimate privacy concerns, and residents in urban neighbourhoods may not know one another well. Why should an applicant’s verification hinge on persuading other people to share copies of their personal IDs after the applicant has already submitted their own residence and identity documents?
The threat of cancellation has caused significant anxiety. I worry about my passport, possible future complications and travel plans. My family members are worried too, left wondering whether my passport could be affected. I have emailed the concerned authorities seeking clarification and resolution, but have received no substantive response.
This defeats the very purpose of a Tatkaal passport and the government’s stated aim of making the process easier for citizens. A process intended to expedite passport issuance should not leave applicants and their families in prolonged uncertainty, facing threats of cancellation despite submitting documents and cooperating with verification. The inconvenience, emotional strain and uncertainty undermine the ease of the process that Tatkaal is meant to provide.
There is also a need to clarify the applicable rules. The MEA’s Annual Report 2018–19 describes a revised police-verification framework, while a 2018 Times of India report stated that Gurugram had scrapped the two-neighbour reference requirement. If the current requirement is different, citizens deserve to know the exact written order and how it is being applied.
MEA report: https://t.co/SMmM2dcXg7
2018 Times of India report: https://t.co/VXDw4MGawy
I request RPO Delhi, RPO Gurugram and the MEA to clarify:
What exact written rule requires two local witnesses and self-attested copies of their identity documents?
Where does it state that applicants must procure these private documents from neighbours?
Why was I threatened with cancellation despite submitting my residence proofs and required personal and family documents?
What safeguards protect applicants from adverse consequences when requirements are unclear or difficult to fulfil?
I have no criminal cases against me. I am an established professional seeking a transparent and fair process—not special treatment.
Tatkaal should mean timely, transparent and accessible—not additional uncertainty, inconvenience and anxiety for applicants and their families. I request a written response, clarity on the applicable rules, and accountability for threats of cancellation made without a clear explanation.
@rpoDelhi@passportsevamea@MEAIndia@gurgaonpolice
I’ve emailed the concerned authorities seeking clarification and resolution. None have responded, leaving me stranded between a threat of cancellation and a process nobody is willing to explain.
What is a citizen supposed to do when the rules are unclear and the authorities won’t respond?
@MEAIndia@passportsevamea@gurgaonpolice@timesofindia — please intervene and provide accountability.
All these claims of digitisation and modernisation of passport process goes down the drain once the true system kicks in. I am also experiencing it firsthand again after 10 years when I have to renew my passport. Even takal passports remain in a limbo because the local police thana will become the choking point. And they use your urgency and fear against you to make the process as inconvenient as possible
