A STUDENT’S TWO YEARS CANNOT SIMPLY DISAPPEAR
My name is Akilesh Subramani.
I completed four semesters of the BVA in Animation and Game Art at Asian Institute of Design, Bengaluru, believing I could exit with a Diploma under the NEP Multiple Entry and Exit System.
Today, despite two years of study and nearly ₹4 lakh spent by my family, I am being treated as only a 10+2 graduate.

Faculty member Mr. Sumith Biswas clearly informed me that after completing two years—four semesters—and clearing my subjects and backlogs, I would be eligible to exit with a Diploma.
I trusted this representation and continued the programme accordingly.
After I completed the required semesters and cleared my backlogs, Mr. Sumith Biswas had resigned.
Who is accountable for the information given to me?
3/10
When I requested my Diploma, Principal Mr. Bhaskar and the management of Asian Institute of Design informed me that they cannot provide a diploma after they cross-verified the matter with the University.
Why was this not clarified before I invested two years of my life and my family paid lakhs in fees?
Why was written information about the exit qualification not provided during admission?

My institution gave me a number to contact Bengaluru North University.
My call was directed to Mr. Shivrajkumar, who was represented to me as the Registrar. He informed me that the Diploma exit applied only to BVA Honours students.
I am asking one direct question:
Which written University regulation states this restriction?
5/10 — THE UNIVERSITY’S OWN REGULATION
I obtained the official BNU regulation:
BNU/Regulations/2021–22
Dated: 31 March 2022
The regulation provides for:
• A Diploma after four semesters with 96 credits
• Exit options after two, four and six semesters
• BVA in Animation and Multimedia Design among the recognised programmes
I could not find a written clause restricting this Diploma exit only to BVA Honours students.

I am therefore publicly requesting:
Mr. Sumith Biswas: Why was I told I could exit with a Diploma after two years?
Mr. Bhaskar, Principal: Why was the exit route denied only after I completed four semesters and cleared my backlogs?
Mr. Shivrajkumar: Please identify the exact written regulation supporting the “BVA Honours only” statement.

I also experienced conduct at the institution that I describe as verbal harassment and body-shaming by Mr. Bibin, General Manager.
I request Mr. Bibin and Asian Institute of Design to respond to this allegation through a fair and documented grievance process.
No student struggling with an academic dispute should be humiliated or personally targeted.

The consequences are real:
• Nearly ₹4 lakh spent by my father
• Two years of higher education left unrecognised
• Employment opportunities being lost
• Repeated travel to examination centres and offices
• Two hospital admissions during the period of severe stress
I also live with Bipolar Disorder, and this prolonged uncertainty has had a serious impact on my mental well-being.
I am sharing this voluntarily because educational negligence can deeply affect a student’s health and future.

Even obtaining information has been difficult.
Bengaluru North University does not appear on the central online RTI filing system available to me. I have been required to consider travelling to Kolar or using postal correspondence merely to obtain an official acknowledgement and written clarification.
Why should a student have to fight this hard just to know their academic status?

10/10 — MY DEMAND IS SIMPLE
I am not asking for sympathy or a special favour.
I request Bengaluru North University to:
Verify my registered programme
Calculate my earned credits
Examine my eligibility under BNU/Regulations/2021–22
Provide a written and reasoned decision
Show me the exact written rule if I am ineligible
Recognise my qualification if I am eligible
I have preserved my marks cards, academic records and the official regulation.
Please share and tag the appropriate education authorities. Students deserve written rules, transparency and accountability—not contradictory verbal statements after years of study and lakhs in fees.

Two years of my education. Four semesters completed. Nearly ₹4 lakh invested by my family.
I was informed that under the NEP Multiple Entry & Exit System, I could exit after two years with a Diploma once I cleared my backlogs. I fulfilled that requirement.
Today, I am still fighting for recognition of those two years.
This is not just about me. It's about every student who deserves clarity, accountability, and fairness from educational institutions.
I'm raising my voice because no student should lose years of hard work due to miscommunication or conflicting interpretations.
Please watch, share, tag the concerned authorities, and help this reach the people who can bring justice.
