A special meeting of @LimerickCouncil was held this morning on decision by @EPAIreland to grant Irish Cement its waste incineration licence. Councillors unanimously supported rejection of the decision and called for appeal, and also to have EPA and @HSELive present to members.

I joined concerned Limerick citizens who took to the streets of the city today in protest against the EPA’s decision to allow Irish Cement to burn toxic waste at its plant in Mungret. Kudos to @LAP_Limerick who organised the protest in conjunction with @speakwithfeet
Approx 6500 people turn out in Limerick city to @speakwithfeet, old to young protesting the EPA license granted to the Irish Cement Factory allowing them to burn tyres in their Mungret plant
