I'm a mastering engineer and owner of Spectre studios.. recording and mastering. I've worked with names ranging from august burns red to death cab for cutie.
@onbeeper I don't want Imessage..what I want is to be able to use my data how I see fit. NOT be downgraded going to and from an iPhone. Any iPhone users should feel the same. IMHO. It's our data..let us use it.
@benguild@onbeeper And it all just worked great...I had aim on a g5 tower...on a windows PC...and on my phone...which I believe was a T-Mobile sidekick at the time...and it all synced up..and worked great...we have gone backwards.

@DylanMcD8 Nope ....but .aol did OWN the way people got online in the beginning with their albeit awful "software"....and were owned by time warner...a massive company. That chose compatibility
@SnazzyLabs Anyone else remember when apple reverse engineered aol instant messenger and it was available as a default in osx? Isn't this kinda the same?
