@WSJ_Support was not helpful, even when presented with evidence that their website does not keep a proper billing history of how long I had been subscribed.
The @WSJ should do a story on predatory subscription practices, starting with themselves. Their introductory digital subscription is for $2/month for a full year, afterwards it renews at their "normal rate" of $38.99 plus tax. I was actually told by their agent to chargeback.
@nogginsnot No, very misleading. They don't mention the small print until later, now it's $2/mo which goes up to $38.99/mo a year later, if you remember to cancel it; else it's nonrefundable once it's on your credit card.

@WSJ Watch out! The WSJ will not warn you when the promotion period ends, then they refuse to cancel the $38.99 charge when it hits your credit card. I just dealt with their customer service today and I have disputed the charge with my bank.
Signed up for @WSJ - $1/wk & apparently it expired while I was on vacation & they automatically charged me $38.99 for another month. It is IMPOSSIBLE to cancel online, have to talk to a call center in BFO someplace. They cancelled my online subscription, but no refund! Beware!
@sidewayskoyote@alexlmiller It's crazy. And now it went from $2/month to $38.99/month so it's even worse. Shame on @WSJ for taking advantage of people who forget to cancel by soaking them for 20x the cost.
@alexlmiller honestly, that sort of thing is dishonest and unethical and proof of what you are likely to get. If it resubbed at the annual rate, that wouldn't be so bad.
@WSJ_Support @GodOfTalkRadio Nobody helped me either, and I spent more than an hour on the phone today. $2 to $38.99 appears to be the hard stance of @WSJ even when their own billing history does not show when first payment was received.
