@jackrwilkie Just listened to that episode, thanks for sharing! Does your church have something like what you discussed going on in practice? Appreciate your work and heart for the gospel 🤟🏼
@SwordMasterPub Jude 5 says that “Jesus saved a people out of Egypt” which correlates to Dt.32/1 Cor. 10. Seems strange to switch from Jesus aka the Lord in v5 to show Christ in the OT and then in v9 (if it’s Jesus) to say Micheal contended with Satan. Why not say Jesus again? Peace brother
@SwordMasterPub I’m 100% with you about the pre-incarnate Christ being in the OT as the Angel of the LORD etc. But Daniel 10 and Jude are stumbling blocks for me to buy into Jesus being Michael for now. I’ll keep looking into it, appreciate the work. Been praying for your family btw 🤟🏼
@_tfTGS @RuthJDellaSilva @BenSJiles @oliverburdick Bullock worked in the LDS church’s historian’s office so it’s in LDS history. This has been one of the more unreasonable exchanges I’ve had w/a Mormon but I truly do wish you all the best. The faith was delivered once for all (Jd 3), we don’t need another gospel. Grace and peace
@_tfTGS @BenSJiles @RuthJDellaSilva@oliverburdick Ok you’re being dishonest and disrespectful. I never said he wrote it. I said I’m quoting him and I have no reason to doubt the source. Your church has in church history lol
@_tfTGS @BenSJiles @RuthJDellaSilva@oliverburdick Your church published it. So it sure seems backed by the church and it is literally in a book titled “church history” which apparently isn’t reliable according to you. That’s what this comes down to.
@_tfTGS @RuthJDellaSilva @BenSJiles @oliverburdick I’m not back peddling bc I never said JS smith wrote it dude. I’m saying he said it bc it’s reported that he did and I have no reason to doubt the guy since he’s an official LDS clerk.
@_tfTGS @BenSJiles @RuthJDellaSilva@oliverburdick And you’re saying he’s just some random clerk like cmon dude that’s not the whole picture at all. He worked for your church as a clerk.
@_tfTGS @BenSJiles @RuthJDellaSilva@oliverburdick So we can’t trust that source? I looked him up, “Thos.” is short for Thomas. And Thomas Bullock was literally a clerk for the LDS church’s historian’s office! Why can’t we trust that source?? What’s the motive to lie for him?
@_tfTGS @BenSJiles @RuthJDellaSilva@oliverburdick Let’s keep this convo on one thread this is impossible to keep track of lol but I have not lied, I’ve merely quoted your own sources as to what Joseph Smith is reported to have said.
@_tfTGS @RuthJDellaSilva @BenSJiles @oliverburdick *Sigh* so what eyewitnesss can we trust? Wb what’s written about Jesus for that matter? Are you saying that JS never said this? And if so, how do we know what JS said or didn’t say?
@_tfTGS @BenSJiles @RuthJDellaSilva@oliverburdick Ok so we can never know what Jesus said for that matter according to your logic. I never claimed Joseph wrote it - I quoted your own sources that attribute that statement to Joseph Smith, I’m claiming that he said it.
@_tfTGS @RuthJDellaSilva @BenSJiles @oliverburdick I answered elsewhere but I do not love to lie, that’s a really serious charge. I hope and would like to think that you don’t love to lie either and would seek to “speak the truth in love” as Paul commands (Eph. 4:15). I do not hate you at all, I’m only concerned for you.
@_tfTGS @BenSJiles @RuthJDellaSilva@oliverburdick You’re moving the goalposts. First you were saying JS never said such a thing. Now it’s JS never wrote it and I think you’re suggesting he never even said it? I’m quoting your own church’s sources where that quote is attributed to Joseph Smith.
