@Grady_Booch @Google Do you assume that these folks will not pursue further education upon starting that first job? IMO, working in software requires continuous learning so I don't think I would be so down on this approach even though I suspect Google's intentions are self-serving.

@toddmckinnon It's naive to consider using only vanilla services and generalized architectures on AWS. Take advantage of the enormous experience, scalability and breadth of offerings pf AWS, or GCP or Azure to the greatest extent possible and focus on your product.
